An ambush on the Wendwater occurred during Aegon's Conquest when stormlords attacked the host of House Targaryen.[1]
Prelude
Shortly after the coronation of Aegon I Targaryen, the Conqueror dispatched the greater part of his host south to Storm's End under the leadership of Orys Baratheon, accompanied by Queen Rhaenys Targaryen atop Meraxes.[2]
Attack
While crossing the Wendwater, the Targaryen host was ambushed by Lords Errol, Fell, and Buckler, cutting down more than a thousand men before fading back into the trees of the kingswood. In response, Rhaenys unleashed the dragonflame of Meraxes to torch the forest.[2]
