Goghor the Giant is a pit fighter famed in Meereen.[1] His origin is unknown, but he supports the pit fighting culture of the city.[1]

Appearance

Goghor is gigantic with a brutal, scarred face[2] and fists as big as hams.[1] He looks more bull than man, even to the bronze ring in his nose.[3]

Recent Events

A Dance with Dragons

Goghor the Giant, along with his fellow pit fighters Barsena Blackhair, Khrazz, Camarron of the Count, the Spotted Cat, Fearless Ithoke, and Belaquo Bonebreaker, accompanies Hizdahr zo Loraq when he petitions Daenerys Targaryen for the seventh time for the fighting pits of Meereen to be reopened.[1]

When the pits are reopened Goghor the Giant is meant to fight Belaquo Bonebreaker to the death in the final match of the day in Daznak's Pit, but the fight never takes place due to the appearance of Drogon.[3]

After Daenerys's disappearance, Goghor and other pit fighters serve as Hizdahr's guards.[4][2] Goghor is chosen to sit on the ruling council of Meereen along with Belaquo, Camarron, and the Spotted Cat. Ser Barristan Selmy insists on their presence, over the objections of Skahaz mo Kandaq.[5]

Shortly before the resumption of the second siege of Meereen, Goghor the Giant is among the several hundred pit fighters who have gathered for the battle near the Spire of Skulls. Goghor, together with Camarron and the Spotted Cat, is to lead the pit fighters in the battle. The pit fighters are to follow the Stormcrows into battle and follow the horsemen into the breach of the Yunkish lines in order to slaughter as much as they can.[6]

Quotes

Daenerys: I freed you. Why should you wish to end your lives upon the scarlet sands?

Goghor: I train since three. I kill since six. Mother of Dragons says I am free. Why not free to fight?
Daenerys: If it is fighting you want, fight for me. Swear your sword to the Mother's Men or the Free Brothers or the Stalwart Shields. Teach my other freedmen how to fight.

Goghor: Before, I fight for master. You say, fight for you. I say, fight for me. For gold. For glory.[1]
