Lianna Velaryon was a noblewoman of House Velaryon during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. She was one of the ladies-in-waiting to her cousin, Queen Rhaena Targaryen.[1]

History

After the death of Dowager Queen Alyssa Velaryon, her daughter Queen Rhaena Targaryen retreated to Dragonstone, and found consolation over her mother's death with new companions, including her young cousin Lianna.[1]

In 54 AC, Rhaena's husband Androw Farman used the tears of Lys to poison his wife's companions, having grown jealous of their friendships and weary of their mockery toward him. Initially believing there to be an illness spreading across Dragonstone, King Jaehaerys I Targaryen ordered his Hand of the King, Lord Daemon Velaryon, to blockade the island. The King's Hand did as commanded, though not without grief, for his niece was still on the island. She was the last of Rhaena's companions to be poisoned by Androw. Maester Anselm purged her, bled her, and covered her with ice, but nothing worked. She died in the arms of Rhaena, convulsing, even as her uncle's galleys were pushing off from Driftmark.[1]

Family

Lianna was the niece of Daemon Velaryon, Lord of the Tides.[1]
