Lucas Leygood was a knight from House Leygood who served as Commander of the City Watch during the regency of King Aegon III Targaryen.[2]

History

Lucas was the son of the head of the house during the Dance of the Dragons, one of the Caltrops who died at Second Tumbleton. Lord Unwin Peake, a fellow Caltrops, named Lucas Commander of the City Watch when he became Hand of the King in 133 AC. To replace the men who had died during the Winter Fever and the Moon of Madness, the Hand bestowed gold cloaks on five hundred of his own men.[2] Lucas remained as Commander of the City Watch after Lord Peake resigned as Hand in 134 AC.[3]

After Lotho Rogare attempted to depart King's Landing after the Rogare Bank ran dry, he was arrested by Lucas and his gold cloaks.[1]

Lucas supported the attempted coup by Ser Marston Waters, the Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Lucas and his gold cloaks of over two thousand men kept a firm grip on King's Landing. When Lord George Graceford was questioned about this, he named Lucas a conspirator, along with six of the seven captains of the city gates. When men came for him, a short, savage battle was fought at the Gate of the Gods, leaving nine dead, Lucas among them.[1]
