Norman Hightower was a knight from House Hightower during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen. He was a grandson of Lord Donnel Hightower and an accomplished mariner.[1]
History
In 56 AC, Norman and his brother, Ser Eustace, accompanied Lady Elissa Farman, under the alias Alys Westhill, on her voyage to discover new lands. Lord Donnel Hightower received a raven from the Iron Throne that Elissa was to be arrested and brought back to King's Landing in chains, but by the time Donnel acted, Norman and his brother had already set sail with her.[1]
Sailing west and south of Westeros into the Sunset Sea, the expedition began suffering from storms during their second week of sailing. Norman's Autumn Moon foundered during one storm and sank under a wave. Some of the men on Eustace's ship, Lady Meredith, claimed that a kraken had brought down Norman's ship.[3]
