Orell is a wildling raider and skinchanger who accompanied Mance Rayder on his assault of the Wall. He controls an eagle.[1]

Recent Events
A Clash of Kings
While inhabiting his eagle to search for a party of rangers, Orell's human body was killed by Jon Snow.[2] Due to the magic of skinchanging, a portion of Orell's consciousness remained in the eagle, which developed a fierce hatred for Jon Snow. He was instrumental in helping Rattleshirt track down and capture Jon and Qhorin Halfhand. He attacked Jon and scarred his face with its talons.[3]
A Storm of Swords
Another skinchanger, Varamyr Sixskins, took control of the eagle. He used the eagle to scout Castle Black and therefore learned early about Stannis's arrival at the wall.[4] Melisandre killed the eagle with her fire magic, driving Varamyr insane and supposedly killing the remnants of Orell inside the eagle.[4][5]
