Recent Events

A Clash of Kings

Pyat Pree, a warlock, is one of the three representatives of Qarth that accompany Jhogo back to Vaes Tolorro after he was sent by Daenerys Targaryen to discover what lies near the abandoned city.[1] He escorts Daenerys to Qarth where he tries to convince her to come with him and visit the House of the Undying.[2] When Dany arrives at the House of the Undying, accompanied by Ser Jorah, her bloodriders, and Xaro Xhoan Daxos, Pyat Pree counsels her on the rules of entering the palace of the warlocks. Upon exiting the House of the Undying after Drogon burned the Undying Ones, Dany finds Pyat Pree gibbering in some unknown tongue and hopping from one foot to the other. Pree then draws a knife and advances on Dany, at which point Jhogo and Rakharo intercept and disarm him.[3]

Pyat Pree invited Daenerys Targaryen many times to the House of the Undying

A Storm of Swords

Aboard the Balerion Daenerys Targaryen remembers that the warlock Pyat Pree had sent a Sorrowful Man after her to avenge the Undying she had burned in their House of Dust.[4]

A Feast for Crows

Euron Greyjoy reportedly captured four warlocks leaving a ship from Qarth. Euron killed one for threatening him and then fed him to the three remaining warlocks. The surviving warlocks are reportedly coaching Euron in black magic.[5]

A Dance with Dragons

While visiting Meereen, Xaro Xhoan Daxos informs Daenerys Targaryen that not all her enemies are in Yunkai. He warns her to "beware men with cold hearts and blue lips".

He tells her that she had not been gone a fortnight when Pyat Pree set out from Qarth with three of his fellow warlocks to seek her in Pentos, in order to seek revenge on her for the burning of the House of the Undying. This implies to readers that these warlocks are most likely the ones captured by Euron Greyjoy - who came across four warlocks when he captured a certain galleas out of Qarth.

In private, Ser Barristan voices his concern to Dany about Pyat Pree. When Dany tries to recall Pree's face, all she can see are his lips - which the shade of the evening turned blue.

She tells Ser Barristan that if a warlock's spell could kill her, she would be dead by now. She states that she left their palace in ashes. However, she thinks privately to herself that it was Drogon who saved her when the Undying Ones would have drained the life from her. Drogon burned them all. Ser Barristan does not dispute her and replies that he will be watchful.[6]

The Winds of Winter

When Aeron Greyjoy is held captive by his brother Euron in the hold of the Silence he notices among the captives that two were warlocks of the East, with flesh as white as mushrooms and lips the purplish-blue of a bad bruise, both so gaunt and starved that only skin and bones remained. One had lost his legs and had being hung by the mutes from a rafter. “Pree,” he kept crying as he swung back and forth. [7]
