Qhorin Volmark was the Lord of Volmark and the head of House Volmark during Aegon's Conquest.[1]

History

Qhorin's grandmother had been the younger sister of Harwyn Hoare, King of the Isles and the Rivers. After the death of Harwyn's grandson, King Harren Hoare, in the burning of Harrenhal during Aegon's Conquest, Qhorin claimed to be the heir of the black line of House Hoare. He was the first of many rival claimants to the title King of the Iron Islands.[2]

During his invasion of the Iron Islands in 2 AC, King Aegon I Targaryen flew to Great Wyk and slew Qhorin with Blackfyre.[1] Aegon allowed Qhorin's infant son to succeed to the Volmark inheritance.[2]

Goren Greyjoy, Lord of the Iron Islands, easily defeated a conspiracy to crown Qhorin's son in 33 AC.[1]
