Simon Dondarrion was the Lord of Blackhaven and the head of House Dondarrion during the reign of King Jaehaerys I Targaryen.[2]

Appearance and Character

Simon was gallant and handsome.[1] He was an accomplished singer. According to Archmaester Gyldayn, Simon was as skilled with the high harp as he was at jousting.[4]

History

When his father Lord Dondarrion hosted King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen at Blackhaven in 54 AC, Simon charmed the royal couple with sad songs of star-crossed lovers and fallen kings. The queen was so taken with Simon that the royal party lingered at Blackhaven longer than they intended.[4] Simon was the victor at the tourney celebrating the completion of the Dragonpit in 55 AC. He won the love of the commons and queen alike when he crowned Princess Daenerys Targaryen as his queen of love and beauty.[1] He was defeated by Ser Ryam Redwyne at the tourney celebrating the tenth year of Jaehaerys's coronation in late 58 AC, however.[1]

During the Third Dornish War in 61 AC, Lord Simon led a small force of marcher knights into the western Red Mountains of Dorne to cut off any means of escape for the Vulture King's men, while King Jaehaerys and Lord Rogar Baratheon pursued the outlaws from the east.[2]
