Appearance and Character
Simon's father, Lord Dondarrion, hosted King Jaehaerys I Targaryen and Queen Alysanne Targaryen at Blackhaven in 54 AC. Simon charmed the queen with his songs of star-crossed lovers and fallen kings. The victor at the tourney celebrating the completion of the Dragonpit in 55 AC, Ser Simon named Princess Daenerys Targaryen as queen of love and beauty. He was defeated by Ser Ryam Redwyne at the tourney celebrating the tenth year of Jaehaerys's coronation in late 58 AC, however.
During the Third Dornish War in 61 AC, Lord Simon led a small force of marcher knights into the western Red Mountains of Dorne to cut off any means of escape for the Vulture King's men, while King Jaehaerys and Lord Rogar Baratheon pursued the outlaws from the east.
