should we change her name into Meria Martell, as it's the right one?--The Prince of Thorns 00:21, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Ran has requested that nothing from the samples should be used on the wiki for now. Seeing as Meria's name was used in one of the unofficial released samples, I'd say the chances of the spelling changing are still there. So I find it a difficult one. Perhaps it is best we wait until the World book is released. I know that info from the World Book (textual info) is under a 3-month spoiler period, but I don't think that correcting the spelling of names falls under that. So Mariya can be changed to Meria (if that remains the spelling of the name) after the World Book release. What do you think? --Rhaenys_Targaryen 08:15, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
I'm aware of 3-month spoiler period request by Ran, and I think it's the most logical choice. But we already had the name long before the unoffical sample, correcting the spelling wouldn't be a problem I guess. They may change her name to something else but I think it's highly unlikely given that she's an important figure and mentioned in a reading. Actually, I would wait until the release date to correct the spelling but half of the world believes her name is Mariya so I think we should correct it before creating more confusion?--The Prince of Thorns 12:02, 24 June 2014 (UTC)
It's a difficult situation. I see that the spanish wiki has changed the name to Meria, and according to google, the French wiki (lagardedenuit) did so too, though the website is currently offline, and I can't check (when I click on the Meria link on google, it directs me to a URL that, though the page won't display, says the title of the page is Mirram Martell (just as the interlinking of the wiki's does), the name those taking notes originally thought was the correct one (what people first believed to be Mirram, later changed to Mariya, and now thus to Meria). So perhaps making an exception and changing Mariya's name to Meria would be a good idea in this case. --Rhaenys_Targaryen 16:12, 24 June 2014 (UTC)

Both the French and the Spanish interwiki's now have named this article Meria Martell. Should we now thus too? I know the spelling still hasn't been confirmed, but this might create confusion.. --Rhaenys_Targaryen 20:58, 3 July 2014 (UTC)

I say let's do it but do we need to delete the page to change its caption or it can be done without deleting the page, I don't know, I usally delete the page and copy paste it and then change the name. --The Prince of Thorns 15:01, 5 July 2014 (UTC)

Pages can be moved. In that case, the references from other pages to this one, which will remain Mariya until they are changed as well, will keep working, redirecting to the new page. --Rhaenys_Targaryen 15:42, 5 July 2014 (UTC)
