Torwynd, better known as Torwynd the Tame, is the son of Tormund. He is not considered all that great of a fighter.[1]

Tormund reveals to Jon Snow, the Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, that Torwynd died a few days after the battle beneath the Wall from the cold and rose as a wight, after which Tormund had to slay him.[citation needed]
