We're glad to have you here! One editing tip is that dragon is extra work, as the lower-case dragon still properly links to Dragon (the wiki software links to upper and lower case for the first letter of a title). Likewise, the Eyrie links to The Eyrie, so the Eyrie is unnecessary. Also, much of the info at Dance of the Dragons can be moved into separate articles (such as Hour of the Wolf) so the main article can be a summary of the war. If you have questions or would like to make suggestions, the forum is usually more active than wiki talk pages. Nittanian 15:09, 27 November 2014 (UTC)

Color of the coat of arms of House Velaryon

As far as I know the books describe the charges of House Velaryon but not the colors. The only description of the colors (of which I am aware) is on the Citadel. As you can see the see the colors are similar. Regards,Scafloc 10:29, 30 December 2014 (UTC)

But the main listing page gives it as "sea green": http://www.westeros.org/Citadel/Heraldry/Houses/1/#On Dragonstone --The Dragon Demands 16:54, 31 December 2014 (UTC)

And the picture shows the interpretation (of Linda and Ran) of seagreen.Scafloc 15:45, 1 January 2015 (UTC)
...oh crud, this could be a problem: it turns out that "sea green" can refer to a wide range of colors, anything between sort of "teal" and darker greenish. The internet hex color officially titled "sea green" is the dark green kind...but that doesn't tell us if this is what GRRM meant by "Sea green". We'd have to ask the big guy.--The Dragon Demands 20:29, 4 January 2015 (UTC)
I don't speak him that often ;-) Shall we keep the current coa for know? We could add in the description of it some info about the range of colours.Scafloc 22:58, 5 January 2015 (UTC)

Masterly Houses

Right, some fans believe that since Helman Tallhart and Galbart Glovers are called Masters of their castle instead of Lord, they are of a different social rank. We haven't found any instance within George's published works or in SSM verifying this, however, so to include "masterly" houses on the wiki would be original research. Categorize bannermen and supporters in the War of the Five Kings

Just like I categorzied the members of each faction in previous wars, how do you think we could proceed?--Gonzalo (talk) 21:55, 7 December 2015 (CST)

Wait, how did you cite the factions in previous wars?--The Dragon Demands (talk) 20:31, 9 December 2015 (CST)
In Robert's Rebellion, the characters were categorized as "Rebels of Robert's Rebellion" and "Loyalists of Robert's Rebellion", in the case of the Dance of the Dragons we went with "Blacks" and "Greens". Actually there were no other categorizations by faction. Perhaps we could go with "Supporters of Robb Stark in the War of the Five Kings" or "Supporters of Renly Baratheon in the [...]". I've done something similar with "Crew and supporters of Euron Greyjoy" and the likes with the main kingsmoot candidates: Euron, Victarion and Asha--Gonzalo (talk) 12:48, 16 December 2015 (CST)

....looks good enough to me, I guess.

Right now though I'm in the middle of some other catch-up work.

But yes, I have no objections. Thank you for getting this started.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 22:06, 2 January 2016 (CST)

Dash code

The code displays a dash for me just as it should. The first time it didn't because I made a typo, but the second time I checked with an editing preview. The second time it still did not display a longer dash for you? --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 07:57, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

Well that makes no sense....I just copy pasted the "ndash" thing above right here, and now it's displaying fine for me. I don't know. Wiki code being finicky.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 16:23, 18 September 2017 (UTC)

The Sons of the Dragon

Hey! Ran has indicated that "there should probably be a grace period" between the release of the Sons of the Dragon and adding the information from it on the wiki. So perhaps you could undo your edits until that period has passed?--Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 06:25, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

Yes.

...but what about things that are purely minor spelling corrections? "Aethon Velaryon" to "Aethan Velaryon", etc? Based on misheard live readings?--The Dragon Demands (talk) 06:27, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

I don't know, you could ask that on the thread :) BTW, TWOIAF indeed spelled Robar as "Robar Baratheon", not Rogar. --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 06:29, 10 October 2017 (UTC)
Oh... Well, yeah, we'll make a list in the forum first I guess.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 06:30, 10 October 2017 (UTC)

One or two misspellings are confusing: I wonder if "Willam Whistler" is a corruption of "Willam Westerling.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 22:00, 9 November 2017 (UTC)

You wrote "that, and "Robar" seems to fit the Baratheon naming schemes better (other Baratheons tend to have a "b" in their names)" on Robar Baratheon's page. Is that from the linked video as well? Since the video is more than 2 hours, perhaps you can link to the exact moment in the video where it is said? Same for the info about Alysanne. --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 06:53, 24 November 2017 (UTC)

References

Hi! I would like to give you some feedback with regards to the usage of references. When adding text (whether it is a single sentence or a larger part, like this edit), please make sure to add references! --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 16:36, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

Yeah I just added that note to Currency about the MUSH on the spur of the moment, I didn't think it would stick. Nevermind.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 16:44, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

That's not what I was referring to. ;) --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 17:25, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

References 2

Hello. When adding text, please add references in their correct layout. Instead of twoiaf or twoiaf, please contribute to the wiki's consistency and use the format twoiaf, twoiaf, etc. --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 23:04, 3 November 2018 (UTC)

Oh god, sorry. I put those in as placeholders and thought I'd go back and do them correctly but then I got distracted.--The Dragon Demands (talk) 19:09, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
