Alan of Rosby is a ranger of the Night's Watch, stationed at Castle Black. He comes from Rosby in the crownlands. He is a good archer.[1]

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

Alan survives the fight at the Fist during the great ranging beyond the Wall and is among the survivors that make it to Craster's Keep.[1] When Craster is hurting one of his younger daughters, Alan goes outside so he does not have to hear the girl's screams.[1]

A Feast for Crows

Alan remains at Craster's Keep after the death of Lord Commander Jeor Mormont, along with a few other former members of the Night's Watch.[2]

A Dance With Dragons

Five betrayers wander in the haunted forest, planning to head south over the Wall. However, the traitors are killed by Coldhands and his ravens. Summer, Bran Stark's direwolf, finds the bodies and eats parts of the meat.[3] It is unknown if Alan is among them.
