Alannys Harlaw is the wife of Lord Balon Greyjoy and sister to Lord Rodrik Harlaw. She had four children with Balon; Rodrik, Maron, Asha and Theon. She is nicknamed "Lanny" by her brother, Lord Rodrik.[1]

Alannys has long white hair and thin skin. She once had a strong face, but has become frail and sickly. She has lost much of her mental faculties, frequently forgetting that her sons Rodrik and Maron have died.[1]

When Theon returns home, his mother is away from Pyke, staying on Harlaw and not returning anytime soon.
A Feast for Crows
Lady Alannys is widowed after the death of her husband, Balon. She is now half-mad, searching for her sons which have all departed. Asha had visited her before her departure for Deepwood Motte and found her a shadow of her former self.[1]
