Lord Daemon Velaryon was a member of House Velaryon and the master of ships to Aegon the Conqueror during Aegon's Conquest.[1]
History
Lord Daemon was counted as one of the oldest supporters of Aegon the Conqueror. He was therefore given the honor of becoming Aegon's master of ships, in control of the royal fleet. After House Arryn refused to bend the knee, Aegon sent his admiral to take the coastal city of Gulltown. However, the Vale fleet managed to repel the Targaryen fleet. Lord Daemon perished during the battle in the waters off Gulltown.[1]
Legacy
Daemon had at least one child before he died, Aethon Velaryon, who also became master of ships. His granddaughter, Alyssa Velaryon, became Queen of the Seven Kingdoms when her husband, Prince Aenys, was crowned king.[2]
