A Game of Thrones

The settlement where Eroeh lives is attacked by the khalasar of Khal Ogo. As the attack is ongoing, the khalasar of Khal Drogo falls upon them. Eroeh is captured during the raid. Daenerys Targaryen, Drogo's khaleesi, comes across Eroeh as she is being raped by several men waiting their turn, and Daenerys claims the girl to protect her. The rapers laugh when Jhogo intervenes, and the young guard beheads a raper who shouts back at him. Most of the rapers angrily depart, with the exception of the man already atop Eroeh, the second man to have raped her. Ser Jorah Mormont pulls the raper from atop Eroeh, and Aggo then kills him with an arrow. Daenerys has Doreah treat Eroeh's wounds.[1]

Mago, one of the rapists, complains to Drogo that Daenerys took a girl from him as a spoil of war. Drogo defends his wife's claiming of Eroeh and orders Mago to look elsewhere.[1]

When Drogo falls ill and falls from his horse, Eroeh helps Daenerys and her handmaidens to care for Drogo. When she sees Drogo's condition she whispers that the khal will die, for which Daenerys slaps her. When Jorah arrives at the tent, Eroeh is sent away.[2] Eroeh is later present when Mirri Maz Duur prepares to treat the dying Drogo, but she flees sobbing from the tent.[2]

When Drogo dies, his horde breaks into several smaller khalasars. Eroeh is seized by Mago, now a bloodrider to the new Khal Jhaqo. After Mago is finished with Eroeh, he gifts her to his khal, who gives her to his other six bloodriders. After they finish raping her, they cut her throat. Daenerys swears that she will avenge the girl.[3]

A Storm of Swords

The day before she is set to exchange her black dragon, Drogon, for eight thousand six hundred Unsullied in Astapor, Daenerys asks Jorah if he can still recall Eroeh.[4]

Daenerys recalls Eroeh again when she learns that the new Astapori king, Cleon, has begun training new Unsullied, even though Daenerys had ended the slave trade with the fall of Astapor. She compares the situation to Eroeh.[5]

A Dance with Dragons

When Daenerys learns that the forces from Yunkai have taken Astapor, she compares the city once more to Eroeh, whom she had attempted to save from rape and death, only to have her suffer a much worse fate later on. Daenerys states to her councilors that she made "ten thousand Eroehs" in Astapor.[6]

The day before Daznak's Pit is to open, Daenerys recalls the innocents who have died in her service, including Eroeh, in order to justify to herself that she has made the right decision by allowing a few to voluntarily risk their lives in the fighting pits of Meereen, than to have thousands die in war and conflict.[7]

Quotes

Jhogo: Mago seized her, who is Khal Jhaqo's bloodrider now. He mounted her high and low and gave her to his khal, and Jhaqo gave her to his other bloodriders. They were six. When they were done with her, they cut her throat.

Aggo: It was her fate, Khaleesi.

Daenerys: It was a cruel fate, yet not so cruel as Mago's will be. I promise you that, by the old gods and the new, by the lamb god and the horse god and every god that lives. I swear it by the Mother of Mountains and the Womb of the World. Before I am done with them, Mago and Ko Jhaqo will plead for the mercy they showed Eroeh.[3]

Ben: Who is Eroeh?
Daenerys: A girl I thought I'd saved from rape and torment. All I did was make it worse for her in the end.[6]
