Farlen is the kennelmaster at Winterfell.[1]
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
Farlen and Maester Luwin taught Bran Stark the ability to tell the differences between direwolves and regular wolves.[2]
A Clash of Kings
Farlen is injured when Theon Greyjoy captures Winterfell.[3] Theon Farlen forces to accompany Theon's search party when Bran and Rickon Stark disappear, by threatening to let his men rape Palla again.[4] When mysterious deaths start happening to those of Theon's men who had been part of the search party (Gelmarr, Aggar and Gynir), Farlen is blamed by Theon and put to death. As he was about to be executed Farlen pointed out to Theon that Lord Eddard did his own killings forcing Theon to do the deed himself.[5]
While Farlen was blamed for the deaths, the truth however was that the men were murdered by Ramsay (with Theon's knowledge) as all three knew the truth about the two bodies Theon brought back to Winterfell and claimed they were Bran & Rickon. Theon then used Farlen as a scapegoat for the murders.
