Depiction of the Great Sept of Baelor

The Great Sept of Baelor is the holiest sept of the Faith. It lies atop Visenya's hill within King's Landing. It has seven crystal towers, each of which has bells. Only on momentous occasions, such as the death of a king, are all of them rung.[1] A statue of Baelor I stands in a white marble plaza before the sept. It has two towering gilded statues of the Father and the Mother, between which a royal bride and groom place themselves for their wedding vows and large gardens, capable of holding hundreds[2]

Within the Great Sept, there are several sets of doors. Through the Father's Doors, the septons enter the sept. Through the Mother's Doors, the septas enter. Through the Stranger's Doors, the silent sisters enter.[3] On entering the Great Sept of Baelor, one passes beneath colored globes of leaded glass in the Hall of Lamps[4] With floors made out of marble and great windows of leaded, colored glass, and the seven altars are set about with candles[2] through the double-doors is the sept-proper, with seven broad aisles which meet beneath the dome of glass, gold, and crystal.[4]

Bellow are the tombs where, Kings are laid to rest., cells for penitents[2] and the vaults that hold costly vestments, rings, crystal crowns, and other treasures of the Faith.[2]
