Helicent Uffering was a noblewoman from House Uffering. She was the sister to Ser Rolland Uffering.[3]

Appearance and Character

In 211 AC, Helicent was about forty years old. She was soft and fleshy, stout and square. She had auburn hair that she wore piled high, and had a pointed head that her hair did not conceal. She had a red face, a big nose, and a small mouth.[3]

Helicent was a pious and simple woman. She was fond of melons. She wore a gown of dark blue damask trimmed with Myrish lace, which was so long that its hem trailed in the dirt. Three septas attended her.[3]

History

Helicent was one of the courtiers at Coldmoat during the reign of King Aerys I Targaryen. She came to Coldmoat with her brother, Ser Rolland Uffering, who was the fourth husband of Lady Rohanne Webber. When Ser Duncan the Tall came to Coldmoat, Ser Lucas Inchfield introduced Helicent as Rohanne in order to embarrass Duncan. Helicent did not understand Duncan's meaning when he asked her about the dam on the Chequy Water, and was frightened when one of the other courtiers shouted that Duncan wanted to sleep with her.[3]

Quotes by Helicent

Duncan: Ser Eustace bid me talk with you concerning the recent trouble at your dam.
Helicent: The... dam, you say?
Duncan: The stream, the Chequy Water. Your ladyship built a dam across it...
Helicent: Oh, I am quite sure I haven't. Why, I have been at my devotions all morning, ser.[3]

Quotes about Helicent

Do not think ill of Lady Helicent, I pray you. My good-sister is a simple creature, but she has no harm in her. For all her piety, she could not dress herself without her septas.[3]
