House Bywater is a noble house from the Crownlands.
According to semi-canon sources, they blazon their shields with fretty blue on white, three silver fish on a blue chief.[1]

The known Bywaters during the timespan of the events described on A Song of Ice and Fire are:
- Ser {Jacelyn Bywater}, also known as the Ironhand. A Gold Cloak officer of a lesser branch of the house. Killed at the Battle of the Blackwater

- Ser Jacelyn fought at Pyke during the Greyjoy Rebellion, where he lost his hand. Afterward he was knighted by Robert Baratheon, and wears an iron hand in place of the one he lost.
- Ser Jacelyn Bywater, captain of the Mud Gate, is named Commander of the City Watch of King's Landing after Janos Slynt is exiled to the Wall.
- On orders from Tyrion Lannister, Ser Jacelyn seized Tommen Baratheon and arrested Ser Boros Blount at Rosby. He is given a lordship for his service.
- Lord Jacelyn was killed at the Battle of the Blackwater by his own fleeing men.
