House Crakehall of Crakehall is a noble house from the Westerlands. The Crakehall is located along the Ocean Road, at the south of the Westerlands, between the Sunset Sea and a big forest. The Crakehalls are known for their uncommon robustness.[1]
Their arms depict a black and white brindled boar on brown.[2][3] According to semi-canon sources their words are «None so Fierce».[4]

The known Crakehalls during the timespan of the events described on A Song of Ice and Fire are:
- Lord Roland Crakehall, Lord of Crakehall
- Ser Tybolt Crakehall, his eldest son and heir to Crakehall.
- Ser Lyle Crakehall, his second son, called the "Strongboar".
- Ser Merlon Crakehall, his third son.
- Ser {Burton Crakehall}, his brother. A fierce knight.
With unspecified familiar relationship with the lord of the house there is also:
- Lord {Sumner Crakehall}, Lord of Crakehall during Robert's Rebellion. Probably Lord Roland's father. Died around 281 AL.
- Shiera Crakehall, the wife of Ser Damion Lannister. Mother to Lucion and Lanna Lannister.
- {Amarei Crakehall}: Third wife of Lord Walder Frey. Mother to seven Freys (Hosteen, Lythene, Symond, Sanwell, Merrett, Geremy and Raymund).
- Melesa Crakehall: Wife of the second son (Lyonel) of the second son (Emmon) of Lord Walder Frey. With no progeny.

- A different Ser Roland Crakehall is one of the three members of the Kingsguard that escorted part of the royal family to Ashford. He and his sworn brothers took part in the Trial by Seven on the side of Prince Aerion.
- One of the outstanding supporters of the Black Dragon mentioned by Ser Eustace Osgrey was Redtusk, who could have been a Crakehall.
A Song of Ice and Fire
- On the journey to Casterly Rock to visit with the Lannisters to broker the marriage of Elia and Oberyn Martell, they and their mother stopped at Crakehall.
- Ser Jaime has memories of when he earned his spurs, squiring for Lord Sumner Crakehall against the Kingswood Brotherhood.
- Merrett Frey remembers how he had served as a page for his mother's family, and later he squired for old Sumner Crakehall.
- Ser Elys Westerling and Lord Roland Crakehall were the first to enter on the throne room after Ser Jaime had slain Aerys.
- Among the heraldry gathered for the Tourney of the Hand, was that of a knight of Crakehall.
- Lord Walder Frey questions his paternity over the sons of his third wife that disappoint him at the Tourney of the Hand, arguing that she was a Crakehall and all of the Crakehall women are sluts.
- Tyrion sees the brindled boar of Crakehall among his father's banners.
- The messenger that brought Lord Tywin the news of the defeat of Ser Jaime's army at the camps wore the brindled boar of Crakehall half-obscured by dried blood.
- Ser Burton Crakehall boasted that he had slain Beric Dondarrion, until the Lightning Lord reappeared, killing all the men from his column. Later Beric showed a spot above his left ear where his temple was caved in, stating that there is where Ser Burton hit him with his mace.
- Little Walder Frey quartered his shield to depict in one quarter the brindled boar of his grandmother's house.
- Lord Roland Crakehall is reported slain at the Battle of Oxcross. However, the rumors are false.
- Arya Stark spies the brindled boar of Crakehall among the banners in Tywin Lannister's army as it leaves Harrenhal.
- Ser Lyle Crakehall was taken captive at the Battle of the Fords and is held captive at Pinkmaiden Castle.
- Among the living men that Jaime considers stronger than him, he includes the Strongboar of Crakehall.
- Ser Merlon Crakehall was one of the nobles that accompanied Tyrion to welcome Prince Oberyn Martell at King's Landing
- In ASOS appendixes, we learn that Ser Burton Crakehall has been killed by Lord Beric Dondarrion and his outlaws.
- The Strongboar is seen training with the lance at King's Landing.
- The Strongboar reminds Cersei of Robert Baratheon, and she is angry at him when he celebrates Tommen's wedding saying that "Westeros has two queens now."
- The Crakehall boar was spotted among the gathered nobility that escorted the corpse of Lord Tywin Lannister back to Casterly Rock.
- The Strongboar joins Jaime's expedition to end the Siege of Riverrun.
- During their trip, they crossed a place named Sow's Horn where an old knight named Ser Roger Hogg defended his towerhouse. Since he was a big man, the Strongboar wanted to question him about his ancestors to see if he descended from the Crakehalls.
- The Strongboar kept saying that he would slay the Hound. Jaime thought that even if both men were large and powerful, Sandor Clegane was quicker and fiercer.
- Lyle Crakehall consoled Lady Amerei Frey, and promised her that he would return to deal with Dondarrion and his outlaws after ending the siege of Riverrun. Jaime didn't like the passionate looks he and Ami exchanged.
- Jaime considers the possibility of expelling Cersei and naming Kevan Lannister the Hand. If he refuses, he thinks of Forley Prester or Roland Crakehall as alternatives.
- One night Jaime sees the Strongboar and Ser Flement Brax sparring against each other. He thinks that Ser Lyle will win this fight.
- After the siege of Riverrun finishes peacefully, the Strongboar is angry because he hasn't had the opportunity to fight. He rode back to Darry, as promised, to fight outlaws, accompanied by Beardless Jon Bettley.
