- Ser Gerold was a member of Princess Arianne Martell's plot to crown Princess Myrcella Baratheon. When the conspiracy was discovered and the party was intercepted by Areo Hotah, Ser Gerold used the distraction to try and kill Myrcella to force a war with the Iron Throne, but only maimed her. Meanwhile Myrcella's bodyguard, Ser Arys Oakheart was killed by Hotah. Darkstar fled into the deserts to evade arrest. Currently, he is being hunted by Ser Balon Swann of the Kingsguard, who has been told by the Martells that Darkstar killed Ser Arys. Swann is joined by Obara Sand, one of Oberyn Martell's bastard daughters.
