Ser Humfrey Hardyng participated in the tourney at Ashford Meadow in 209 AC, beginning the tourney as one of the champions. He remained a champion, even after Prince Aerion Targaryen killed his horse. Humfrey took Ser Duncan the Tall's side in the trial of seven. He was severely injured and later died of his wounds.[2]
