House Hetherspoon is a house of landed knights sworn to Casterly Rock. The name and location of their keep is unknown.

Neither their arms or their words appear in the books, but in noncanon correspondence with fans George R. R. Martin has blazoned their shield as an oak spoon within a white cartouche on orange and black lozengy.

  • House Hetherspoon is not mentioned during the first three books.
  • In A Feast for Crows, through Cersei's POV, we have access to her multiple thoughts of her childhood friend. When nowing Lady Merryweather she thinks that she has not had a friend he enjoyed so since Melara Hetherspoon, although she considers she betrayed her trust for bringing her to see Maggy the Frog. Melara had convinced Cersei and Jeyne Farman to go to her to get a glimpse of their future. Melara who wanted to marry Jaime, was prophezised an imminent death. That night she drowned in a well while Cersei listened how she screamed and shouted.
