House Qorgyle of Sandstone is a noble house from Sandstone in western Dorne. They are sworn to House Martell of Sunspear.

Their arms are three black scorpions over red.[1][2] Their motto does not appear in the books.

History

The Qorgyles were adventuring Andals who settled in the deep dunes and sands of Dorne.[3]

During Nymeria's War the Qorgyles supported House Yronwood against House Nymeros Martell.[4]

It was rumored that Lord Qorgyle arranged the murder by scorpion of Lord Lyonel Tyrell.[5]

Lord Commander Qorgyle was the predecessor of Lord Jeor Mormont as commander of the Night's Watch. Prince Oberyn Martell was fostered at Sandstone as a child.
