House Rosby of Rosby rules at this small town just north of King's Landing.[1] The Rosbys are not known for their robustness, tending to be sickly persons.[2]

Their blazon consists into three red chevronels on ermine.[3][4] Their motto is not mentioned in the books.

  • Lord Gyles was among those offered as possible matches by Prince Doran Martell to his daughter Arianne.
  • Gyles Rosby is frequently seen in the court of King's Landing, always coughing.
  • Gyles Rosby conspired with Cersei Lannister to take Prince Tommen out of the city and keep him safe at Rosby disguised as a page.
  • Tyrion Lannister considered Gyles Rosby "too sickly to run and too craven to fight".
  • Lord Gyles was captured by Tyrion's men, along with Tommen and his guard. He was released shortly afterwards.
  • Lord Gyles was among the gathered nobility to welcome the Dornish party, headed by Prince Oberyn Martell, to King's Landing.
  • Lord Gyles testified at Tyrion's trial, stating that he had seen the Imp filling Joffrey I's wedding chalice.

  • Lord Gyles died at King's Landing from his cough. He had no immediate heir, but his ward, who is not of his blood has a claim on Rosby.
  • When the issue of succession at Rosby was raised at the Small Council, it was stated there were six claimants before the issue was tabled.
