The Ifequevron or Wood Walkers are a mythical race said to have inhabited in the dense forests of northern Essos. Their name is Dothraki for "Those who walk in the woods", according to the account of merchant-adventurer Bryan of Oldtown.
They were a small, shy, and gentle folk said to have been extinguished by the Ibbenese, who conquered a large swath of the territory directly south to the island of Ib. Others believe they went into hiding or fled to other lands. Nevertheless the Dothraki still refer to the great forest along the northern coast of central Essos the Kingdom of the Ifequevron. The Dothraki are reported to have shunned the Kingdom of the Ifequevron out of reverence for the wood walkers or fear of their powers.
The Ibbenese met by Bryan of Oltown never boasted of having ever seen a woods walker, but claimed that they blessed a household that left offerings of leaf, stone, and water overnight.
