Lewys Piper, better known as Little Lew Piper, is a member of House Piper, a younger son of Lord Clement Piper.[1]

Appearance

Ser Jaime Lannister notices that Lew resembles his father, who is short, fat, bowlegged and has red hair that is bushy and wild.[1]

Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

Lew Piper is named as a squire to Ser Jaime Lannister when Ser Jaime leads a force to aid in the Siege of Riverrun. He names Ser Jaime's horses, Honor and Glory. Although Ser Jaime has made it a habit to not name his horses, because that makes it harder when they die in battle, he laughs about Lew's choice of names and accept them. North of King's Landing, Lew collects blackberries, offering them to Jaime who tells him to give some to Ser Ilyn Payne, too.[2]

When Ser Jaime shows bruises from his secret nightly sword training with Ser Ilyn, Lewys is the only who dares to ask where they come from, receiving the answer that they are love bites from the lusty wenches at Castle Hayford.[2]

The force reaches the camps besieging Riverrun. Ser Daven Lannister recognizes Lewys from his looks as a son of Clement Piper when he arrives to greet his cousin, Ser Jaime. Ser Daven tells Lewys that he beat his brother Marq Piper bloody in a melée once, after Marq had taken offense at Ser Daven's question whether the woman dancing naked on his shield was his sister. Lewys replies that it's the sigil of their house and that he doesn't have a sister. Ser Daven suggests that it's improper to hide behind a naked woman and make the attacker feel unchivalrous. Ser Jaime laughs about his cousin taunting his squire but tells him to leave the boy be. Ser Devan and Ser Jaime later discuss the lynching of Lannister foragers and Ser Devan suggests that some lords of the Trident might be responsible as they still support the northern cause, even though they formally submitted themselves. This makes Jaime think that he would hate to execute Lewys as son of a river lord, as he has grown fond of him. Ser Jaime then suggests that the Brave Companions are more likely suspects.[3]
