Lord of Castamere is a hereditary title held by the ruler of the castle of Castamere, in the northwest of the westerlands.

History

The Reynes of Castamere submitted to House Lannister during the Age of Heroes when Loreon I Lannister, the first King of the Rock, married a Reyne daughter.[1] The title of Lord of Castamere became vacant when Ser Tywin Lannister destroyed the Reynes and their castle during the Reyne-Tarbeck rebellion.[2]

Recent Events

A Storm of Swords

The title remains vacant until the aftermath of the Red Wedding during the War of the Five Kings. For the role played in the downfall of Robb Stark, King in the North, Ser Rolph Spicer is made Lord of Castamere.[3]
