Ser Lothor Brune, known as Lothor Apple-Eater for his feats at the Battle of the Blackwater, is a landless knight. He is related to the Brunes Brownhollow in the Crackclaw Point region and is also an agent of Petyr Baelish.

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Lothor takes part in the Tourney of the Hand in King's Landing. He defeated Jory Cassel on a judgment by the King, tied with Ser Aron Santagar and lost to Ser Robar Royce.[1]

A Clash of Kings

Lothor Brune attempts to ride in the Tourney for King Joffrey's 13th Name Day, however his opponent, Ser Dontos Hollard, is too drunk to ride his horse. Their tilt is called off and Ser Dontos almost loses his life, but for the pleading of Sansa Stark who convinces King Joffrey not to kill Ser Dontos.[2]

Ser Lothor fights on behalf of House Lannister during the Battle of the Blackwater, cutting his way though House Fossoway men-at-arms to capture Ser Jon Fossoway and kill Ser Bryan and Ser Edwyd Fossoway, earning the nickname Lothor Apple-Eater. For his efforts in the battle he was awarded his knighthood and was to be granted land and a keep in the Riverlands at the end of the war.[3]

A Storm of Swords

Ser Lothor commands the crossbowmen who kills Ser Dontos Hollard to keep the secret of Sansa Stark's departure.[4] Upon Petyr Baelish's arrival at the Eyrie, he dismissed the captain of the guards and named Ser Lothor as his replacement.[5]

A Feast for Crows

Ser Lothor Brune is part of the household of Petyr Baelish. Sansa thinks he fancies Mya Stone.[6] During the parley with the Lords Declarant, Ser Lothor stood at the door of the solar. However, when Ser Lyn Corbray drew his sword, Ser Lothor went for his. Before anything could happen, Ser Lyn was convinced by the other lords to put up his sword.[7]

Appearance and Character

At the time of the books Lothor Brune is of middle age. He is quiet, loyal man. Lothor has a squashed nose, a square jaw and his hair is grey. He is stocky and strong.[8][9]
