Ser Preston is one of the Kingsguard who accompanies King Robert I Baratheon on his hunt in the kingswood, during which Robert is gored by a boar.[5]

Preston is present in the throne room when Ser Barristan Selmy is dismissed, and he laughs at his former sworn brother's shame.[6]

Ser Preston beats Sansa Stark when ordered to by King Joffrey I Baratheon. According to Sansa, Preston treats her as a lackwit child during the beatings.[7]
