Pypar, more commonly known as Pyp, is a member of the Night's Watch. He is also known as Monkey. He is in the same novice class as Jon Snow. In the TV series he is played by Jozef Altin.

He is small and has large ears.[2]
History
Before coming to the Wall, Pyp had traveled the Seven Kingdoms with a mummers' troupe. Supposedly he can tell where you are from by your accent.[3] He can imitate a hundred different voices and loves to act.
Recent Events
A Game of Thrones
A mummers' boy, Pypar joined the Watch at the same time as Jon Snow. During sword practice, Jon thinks he uses his sword like a dagger.[4] He befriends Jon and helps defend Samwell Tarly when he arrives at the Wall. He is named to the rangers when Ser Alliser Thorne believes him ready to man the Wall.[5] He is among the group of friends who stop Jon from abandoning the Night's Watch and forswearing himself.[6]

A Feast for Crows
Pypar becomes resentful towards Jon Snow after Jon becomes Lord Commander of the Night's Watch because Jon turns distant, avoiding the very friends who aided his rise to power.[7]
A Dance with Dragons
Pypar makes jests about the rituals of R'hllor. Jon Snow orders him to stop and is grateful none of the Queen's Men heard the japes.
