Queen Alysanne's laws is the term the smallfolk use when referring to laws passed during the reign of Jaehaerys I Targaryen that were implemented on the influence of his wife Queen Alysanne Targaryen.[1]

First Law: When Alysanne Targaryen hosted her Women's courts she became aware of the plight of widows throughout the realm and under her direction the Widow's Law was put in place in 52 AC.[1]

Second Law: Involved the abolishment of the lord's right to the First night. After Queen Alysanne heard numerous horror stories by women involving this archaic custom, she persuaded the small council to declare it illegal in 58 AC and that henceforth a brides maidenhead would only belong to her husband, whether joined before a septon or a heart tree, and any man, be they lord or peasant who would forcibly take her on her wedding night or any other night would be guilty of rape.
