Rhaenyra Targaryen was the firstborn child of Viserys I. Her claim to the throne was challenged by her younger half-brother Aegon II sparking the civil war known as the Dance of Dragons.
History
According to non-canon sources, she was the heiress of Viserys I. In her adolescence, her father remarried and had three healthy sons and a daughter. Until their arrival, she had been treated as if she would follow her father on the Iron Throne. However, Criston Cole, also known as the Kingmaker, supported her half-brother Aegon II and the civil war, known as the Dance of Dragons, was fought. Ultimately her bid failed, but her son, Aegon III succeeded to the throne. [1]
Appearance
According to non-canon sources, she was a stout woman with a thick waist. She dressed richly and always had rings on her fingers. She had silver-gold hair which she word in a braid.
