The north and the location of Rimegate

Rimegate is a castle along the Wall abandoned by the Night's Watch. It is located between Sable Hall to the west and the Long Barrow to the east.[1]

History

The Lord Commander of the Night's Watch tasked Ser Olyver Bracken and Ser Raymund Mallery with restoring the crumbling Rimegate and Sable Hall, respectively, but the two former Kingsguard rebelled from the Night's Watch in 50 AC with the intention to make the castles their seats as lords. Aided by Winterfell, loyal brothers of the Night's Watch recaptured Rimegate and hanged Olyver's rebels. Lord Walton Stark beheaded Olyver with Ice.[2]

Lord Commander Jon Snow intends to garrison the abandoned castle but does not name a commander.[3]
