Recent Events

A Feast for Crows

Lord Rodrik assembled all those faithful to Asha Greyjoy at the Ten Towers. There he tried to convince Asha not to attend the kingsmoot, fearing a bad outcome. He offered to name her his heir but she refused him.[3] At the kingsmoot he was one of the first to call Asha's name.[4] After the Battle of the Shield Islands he was spotted by Victarion Greyjoy and Nute the Barber talking with Gorold Goodbrother and Dunstan Drumm in the castle yard at Lord Hewett's Town. They discussed their fears that the gains from the battle had been little compared to the emnity of the Reach they had earned.[5]

A Dance with Dragons

In Asha POV in A Dance with Dragons she recalls how after Euron Greyjoy was named the new king, Rodrik told her to flee while her uncle was busy, he also recommended she read Haereg. Which recounted the the tale of the only time a Kingsmoot decision was overturned.

Quotes

"I prefer my history dead. Dead history is writ in ink, the living sort in blood."[6]
