Ser Tygett Lannister was a knight of House Lannister.
Character
Tygett was the second brother of Tywin Lannister, the head of the Lannister house.[2] He was said to be a knight of considerable prowess in battle; his sister Genna Lannister tells Jaime she believes he fights like him. He was also said to develop into an angry man due to constantly living in the shadow of his older brother, Tywin.[3]
Tyrion remembers his uncle with some fondness, recalling him to be kinder than Tywin.[4]
History
Like his brothers, Kevan and Gerion, Tygett was overshadowed by their older brother Tywin Lannister. According to his sister Genna, Tygett tried to be his own man, but he could never match Tywin and became angry through the years.[3]
Around 260 AC, he helped his brother Tywin put down the rebellion of the Reynes and Tarbecks and was at Tywin's side when Tarbeck Hall was destroyed.
In 276 AC, he may have been one of the two uncles of Cersei unhorsed by Rhaegar Targaryen in a tourney at Lannisport.
Tygett eventually married Darlessa Marbrand. They had one son: Tyrek Lannister.
Tygett died of the pox before the beginning of the books, some time after Tyrek's conception in 284 AC.[5]
