Ser Willam Whistler was a knight who fought in the army of Prince Aegon Targaryen, son of King Aenys I, when he rebelled against his uncle Maegor the Cruel, who had usurped the throne that was rightfull his.
Young Aegon was killed and his army defeated at the Battle Beneath the Gods Eye. Ser Willam Whistler was listed among the dead.[1]
Behind the scenes
No "House Whistler" has ever been mentioned in other materials. Due to multiple other spelling errors in The Sons of the Dragon, it is possible that "Whistler" is a misreading of "Westerling" - as a preceding paragraph in the same text mentioned that House Westerling sided with Prince Aegon.
