Robar, the grandson of [[Yorwyck VI Royce]], inherited the crown of the [[Bronze King]] less than a fortnight before his sixteenth [[nameday]]. Robar united the houses and clans of the [[First Men]] that still held out against the [[Andals]], most prominently the [[House Belmore|Belmores]], [[House Coldwater|Coldwaters]], [[House Hunter|Hunters]], [[House Redfort|Redforts]], and [[House Upcliff|Upcliffs]]. Robar brought many together with marriages, grants of land or gold, and, according to legend, he cheated in an archery contest against Lord Hunter. Robar was proclaimed [[High King of the Vale, the Fingers, and the Mountains of the Moon]].{{Ref|TWOIAF|The Vale}}

King Robar warred upon one enemy at a time, as the Andal houses had fallen to petty rivalries and infighting. According to legend, Robar slew [[Qyle Corbray]], [[King of the Fingers]], after striking [[Lady Forlorn]] from Qyle's hand. [[Gulltown]] was retaken when Robar's sister infiltrated the city and convinced the surviving [[House Shett|Shetts]] to rise against the [[House Grafton|Graftons]]. Robar defeated the [[Hammer of the Hills]] at [[Ironoaks]].{{Ref|TWOIAF|The Vale}}

The Andals responded by uniting under Ser [[Artys I Arryn|Artys Arryn]], the Falcon Knight. According to singers, Robar's army threw back six Andal charges in the [[Battle of Seven Stars]], but the seventh one broke through. Nevertheless, Robar ordered a counterattack and led the charge himself, with his champions at his side, slaying [[Torgold Tollett]] with Lady Forlorn. Then he spied the Falcon Knight's armor across the field and spurred toward him. Robar managed to slay Artys, but then five hundred knights charged down the slopes of the [[Giant's Lance]] to take Robar's host in the rear. Leading the attack was Artys, as the man slain by Robar had been a decoy. It is unknown who slew Robar in the ensuing rout, with Artys, [[Lord Ruthermont]], Ser [[Luceon Templeton]], or Ser [[Jaime Corbray]], who reclaimed Lady Forlorn, often being suggested.
