The fish in the waters of the Thousand Islands are described as oddly misshapen, with a bitter and unpleasant taste.

With Lannister reprisal looming and Vargo slowly maddening from a fever, most of the Companions desert. By the time [[Gregor Clegane]] [[retaking of Harrenhal|retakes Harrenhal]] and kills Vargo, the band has dissolved into smaller groups.
