I've removed "According to Elio, barely 3,000 words of this material ultimately appeared in The World of Ice and Fire" for a few reasons:

  1. In the linked video, Elio does not mention any word count for the information that has been used in The World of Ice & Fire
  2. The page already makes it clear that the text for Fire and Blood was originally written for The World of Ice & Fire
  3. The chapter in The World of Ice & Fire(~2700 words) is a heavily summarized version from which large chucks are left out. Not simply a part of the original text, which is what was being suggested.

Seems good as it is now. --Rhaenys Targaryen (talk) 18:36, 4 December 2017 (UTC)

I had cited wordcounts in an older version, not going by that podcast, but by the youtube video in which Elio and Linda discuss the prequels.

Nonetheless, even I consider it a moot point by now...I was busy counting up "Heirs of the Dragon has 17,000 words of which 13,000 were released" (or whatever)...when I thought Fire and Blood wouldn't be out for another 5 to 10 years. But after the announcement that he decided to just release what he already has, by around Christmas 2018? We'll know soon enough :) So other than mentioning "the Regency/Aftermath stuff is nearly as long as the Dance of the Dragons stuff" the exact word count doesn't really matter now (I imagine GRRM is writing new stuff for the final version anyway). So just a relic of when I thought we weren't getting this for something like 5 years. I know what's on my Xmas list 2018!--The Dragon Demands (talk) 23:25, 4 December 2017 (UTC)
