Alcoholic beverages

Alcoholism is a broad term for any drinking of alcohol that results in problems. There are some characters in A Song of Ice and Fire that suffer from alcoholism, wine being a popular drink of choice.
Alcoholics
- Robert I Baratheon
- Ser Dontos Hollard
- The Hound
- Boros Blount - half-drunk half the time
- Ser Bartimus - an old knight, one-legged, one-eyed, and oft drunk, castellan of the Wolf's Den.
- Merrett Frey - has gained the dubious distinction of being the biggest drunk in the Twins.[1]
- Ryman Frey
- Septon Cellador of Castle Black - has a strong tendency to alcoholism.[2]
- Morghaz zo Zherzyn - mocked as the "Drunken Conqueror" for his alcoholism
Alcoholic tendencies
- Cersei Lannister - displays growing dependency on alcohol in A Feast for Crows
- Tyrion Lannister - drinks heavily at the start of A Dance with Dragons. Griff forces Tyrion into recuperation from his increasingly heavy drinking.
Reformed alcoholics
- Aeron Greyjoy - in his early years was jolly drunk
- Thoros of Myr - as an outlaw, Thoros experiences a spiritual reawakening
