Barra is the bastard daughter of Robert I and a prostitute from Chataya's brothel in King's Landing. The child is an infant with thin, dark hair.[1] She resembles Mya Stone as a child.[2] Her mother who is unnamed in the books, is named Mhaegen in the television series.

Recent Events

A Game of Thrones

Thanks to Littlefinger, Lord Eddard Stark finds Barra and her mother in his search for the bastards of Robert. The mother asked to see Robert again, just to show him how beautiful his daughter is. Eddard promises to talk about it with the king.[1]

A Clash of Kings

She is killed along with her mother by Allar Deem, officer of the City Watch, on orders of Queen Cersei.

After the murder Tyrion Lannister arranged that Janos Slynt along with several other men of the City watch were sent to the Wall. He also arranged for Allar Deem to be "washed overboard" during the passage. After this Varys told Tyrion that...

"There was another bastard, a boy, older. I took steps to see him removed from harm's way...but I confess, I never dreamed the babe would be at risk. A base born girl, less then a year old, with a whore for a mother, what threat could she pose."

- Varys

"She was Robert's, that was enough for Cersei it would seem."[3]

- Tyrion's bitter reply

TV Series

Game of Thrones

In the TV series Barra is killed by Janos Slynt instead of Allar Deem.
