A Feast for Crows
Brienne of Tarth recalls that Big Ben courted her when Renly Baratheon's army was encamped beneath Highgarden.[2] He sent his squire to clean her mail and gifted her with a silver drinking horn. Lord Randyll Tarly later discovered that there was a wager on who could take Brienne's maidenhead, a wager started by Big Ben, Ser Hyle Hunt and Ser Edmund Ambrose.[1] After the bet was discovered and ended, Brienne sought out and defeated Big Ben during the melee at Bitterbridge.[3]
Hyle informs Brienne that Big Ben was killed at the Battle of the Blackwater. He doesn't mention which side he fought for.[1]
