Bloodbeard is the commander of the Company of the Cat.

Appearance

He is a huge man with a great bush of a beard with fiery red whiskers and long braids. He has massive shoulders.

History

Bloodbeard and the Tattered Prince despise each other.

Recent Events

A Dance with Dragons

Bloodbeard accepted Yunkai's contract and was present at the sieges of Astapor and later Meereen. Bloodbeard was disappointed when peace was declared after Daenerys Targaryen married Hizdahr zo Loraq as he was looking forward to sacking Meereen. After Daenerys Targaryens disappearance on Dragonback, Tyrion Lannister while a slave under Yezzan zo Qaggaz overheard in the Yunkai camp that Bloodbeard recommend they send the hostages given over to them back to Meereen via catapault.

Bloodbeard along with the new commanders of Yunkai army presented the head of captain Groleo to Hizdahr in retaliation for the death of the Yunaki commander Yurkhaz zo Yunzak (the man died trampled by a mob in panic).

Barristan Selmy describes Bloodbeard as ruthless and bloodthirsty and wishes to kill him for murdering Groleo.
