A Dance with Dragons

Bloodbeard accepted Yunkai's contract and was present at the Siege of Astapor and later Meereen.

Bloodbeard was disappointed when peace was declared after Daenerys Targaryen married Hizdahr zo Loraq as he was looking forward to sacking Meereen. Daenerys Targaryen observes Bloodbeard during the festivity in the Great Pyramid hall celebrating peace with the Yunkai. He makes enough noise for him and a dozen more. She notes that he had a prodigious appetite for wine and women, he bellows, belches, farts like a thunderclap, and pinches every serving girl who comes within his reach. From time to time he would pull one down into his lap to squeeze her breasts and fondle her between the legs. [1]

After Daenerys Targaryen's disappearance on Dragonback, Tyrion Lannister, while a slave under Yezzan zo Qaggaz, overheard Bloodbeard recommend they send the hostages Daenerys sent to them back to Meereen via catapult.

Bloodbeard along with the new commanders of the Yunkai army presented the head of captain Groleo to Hizdahr in retaliation for the death of the Yunkai commander Yurkhaz zo Yunzak, who was trampled by a mob in panic. [2]

Barristan Selmy describes Bloodbeard as ruthless and bloodthirsty and wishes to kill him for murdering Groleo.
