A Clash of Kings
Ebben is one of the men that Qhorin Halfhand brings with him to the Fist of the First Men. Along the way to the Fist, they are attacked by wildlings. Ebben questions the survivor and learns that the wildlings have gathered in search of a great power in the Frostfangs.[3] He is part of the small party that Qhorin takes with him into the Skirling Pass.[2] After the death of Squire Dalbridge, Ebben is sent on with the remaining horses to ride as fast as he can to Lord Commander Jeor Mormont. He is killed by a wildling scouting party commanded by Rattleshirt.[4]
