Ellyn Reyne, also known as Ellyn Tarbeck, was a member of House Reyne, who married both into House Lannister and House Tarbeck. She was the sister of Lord Roger Reyne, the Red Lion of Castemere, and Reynard Reyne.[1]

History

She was married to Tion Lannister, the second son of Lord Gerold Lannister who became heir when his elder brother died. Ellyn was a rival of Tytos Lannisters wife Jeyne Marbrand as Ellyn was ambitious and looking forward to becoming the lady of Casterly Rock when her good father died, however that did not transpire as her husband perished fighting in the Fourth Blackfyre Rebellion thus making Tytos the new heir.

Ellyn was then very hastily wed to the widowed Lord Walderran Tarbeck who was fifty-five at the time. Rumor was that the newly widowed Ellyn tried to seduce the already married Tytos Lannister so he would set aside his first wife for her. Tytos apparently was so intimidated by her that he failed to perform and in shame confessed to his wife who forgave him but not her good sister, thus Jeyne informed her good-father Lord Gerold who quickly arranged the match to rid Casterly Rock of Ellyn much to the delight of Jeyne Marbrand.[1]

Ellyn was present at the feast in the Westerlands when the betrothal of Genna Lannister and Emmon Frey was announced. She laughed, probably because she (like many others) did not find it a good match.[2]

Ellyn took three Lannisters hostage - two Lannisters of Lannisport, as well as Stafford Lannister, whose sister was betrothed to Tywin - after Lord Walderran Tarbeck had been imprisoned by Tywin Lannister, after his father Lord Tytos Lannister denied him audience.[2] Ellyn let Tytos know that she would kill the Lannisters if he harmed her husband. Although Tywin advised to send Lord Tarbeck back in three pieces, an exchange was arranged.[3]

During the Reyne-Tarbeck Rebellion Ellyn was killed when Tarbeck Hall "came crashing down" on her due to a shot from a trebuchet that managed to fling a boulder directly over Tarbeck Hall walls and directly on it's aged keep. Tywin Lannister later had the castle put to the torch.[2][1]
