Gavin is among the wildling leaders who accompany Tormund Giantsbane to the Wall in declaring a truce with the Night's Watch.[1] While meeting with Bowen Marsh and Othell Yarwyck, Lord Commander Jon Snow mentions Gavin among the possible suggestions of wildling chiefs who could hold Hoarfrost Hill and Rimegate.[1] He is later present in the Shieldhall, whispering with Harle the Handsome, when Jon Snow announces the letter purportedly from Ramsay Bolton entitled 'Bastard'.[1]
