Gerardys was Grand Maester at the end of the reign of Viserys I Targaryen and during the reign of Aegon II Targaryen.

History

Gerardys served Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen on Dragonstone. He also flew with Prince Daemon Targaryen to help his wife Lady Laena Velaryon after a difficult childbirth, but they arrived too late.[1] He became Rhaenyra's Grand Maester during the Dance of the Dragons, until Aegon II Targaryen took Dragonstone and fed him to his dragon Sunfyre for reasons unknown.[2]

Error in The Rogue Prince

The novella The Rogue Prince identifies Gerardys as the Grand Maester who replaced Mellos in the council and amputated Viserys I's fingers. This was an error,[citation needed] and The World of Ice and Fire states the maester was Orwyle.
